A serious off-road ascent of the eastern flank of Babdağ, starting just off the D400 in the Xanthos Valley.
A serious off-road track accessing a remote, high-altitude plateau.
Awesome blend of high speed straights, tight bends, elevation changes on perfect tarmac in stunning scenery.
Quiet rural route through Dumfries and Galloway to Ayrshire
Twisty, rural, scenic route.
High speed, twisty route with stunning scenery.
12 miles of gravel track along Kielder Forest Drive, then 20 miles or so along mostly narrow, twisty single track behind the Otterburn ranges. Suicidal sheep add to the interest. Reward yourself with a pint at the Rose & Thistle, Alwinton.
Quiet B roads, stunning Borders moorland scenery.
A gentle coastal ride from the Dieppe ferry.
Not so direct route home after work to blow away the cobwebs.
Nice return route home after busy day.
A deliberate attempt to travel cross-country East-West avoiding major roads. The section between Elvanfoot and Newton Stewart (A702/712) is glorious. The added bonus at the end of the trip is lunch at Streatery, Sandhead (http://www.streatery82.co.uk/).
A much more interesting route from Morpeth to Ashington. Done either direction at the start and/or end of working day makes life more tolerable...
Circular route through Northumbria, Scottish Borders and Cumbria. Some well known "biker" roads connected by some lesser known routes. A great mix of open, flowing, fast A-roads, some twisty B-roads and single-track sections. Great scenery and wildlife. Look out for sheep and logging trucks particularly on the Ettrick-Eskdalemuir section.
