A151 : Bourne - Colsterworth

East Midlands > United Kingdom > Europe
December 24, 2004 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.6

This section starts off open and quite straight, then becomes twistier on the way into Melton. Some poor visibility due to hedgerows so be aware of hazards.

B664 : Uppingham - Market Harborough

East Midlands > United Kingdom > Europe
May 31, 2008 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.3

Start in Uppingham and turn onto the B664 Stockerston Road
Watch the first mile out of town as there are a few corners that tighten up unexpectantly and often a lot of mud on the road from farms.
Then you hit a superb view over the valley and a 180 degree hairpin. Down the hill and watch out for the bridge (single file traffic). Lovely tight bends through Stockerston and then you climb up the hill and enjoy a few more sweeping bends.( you can do a minor detour left to Neville Holt - a private country house with more breathtaking views) At the top of the hill enjoy the views before a fast straight with dips into Medbourne (nice food at the Neville Arms). Out of Medbourne over one fast humpback bridge (you could get airbourne here) but then another harsh one where you dont want to!. A tight bend and then sweeping roads (look out for hidden dip) into Weston by Welland. Climb the hill into Sutton Basset and then a nice chicane onto a long fast straight up to the A427. Now you can either turn round and do it again or turn left and head for Corby and take the A6003 back to Uppingham. So much choice! So little time! Enjoy

B6047 : Market Harborough - Melton Mowbray

East Midlands > United Kingdom > Europe
January 18, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.1

A great variety on this stretch with some lovely testing sections. Nice bends and rare police presence (except in the villages). The stretch after the A47 is probably the best bit with a string of fantastic bends and a very naughty left hander! Enjoy

A272 : Petersfield - Haywards Heath

South East England and Lo... > United Kingdom > Europe
February 25, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

This is a nice piece of road, which combines all types of riding skills - Fast corners and slow Sharpe right-handers

B1368 : Hauxton - Puckeridge ( South from Cambridge without dual carriageway )

East Anglia > United Kingdom > Europe
January 15, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Royston to Puckeridge section:
From Royston, at the small one way system in the south end of royston head out east towards barley. this first section once out of town has some fast clear straights and blind corners. once through barley the road opens out again and twists and turns over crests nicely, though theres a few deceptive ones with no obvious indication of which way the road goes - take care! theres a few small villages on the route with 30mph signs but out of there its fast as you like, buildings are mostly farm houses etc, so beware of farm traffic. ive seen the odd police car sitting in a field entrance between crests a few times but its not that common. towards the south end theres a couple of railway bridges that will get you airborne if you hit them too fast and one has a tight bend after it. overall a good road thats not over used by cars or by bikes, more fun and quieter than the A507!

B1108 : Colney - Bodney ( Alternative route south from Norwich )

East Anglia > United Kingdom > Europe
November 16, 2008 - 3 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.0

Take the B1108 from the A47 Southern Bypass at Colney just outside Norwich. Its a fast twisty road, (used by local Police driving school occaisonally to teach bend assessment), with some speed limits through towns and villages. The best section is west of Watton across the army area. At A1065 turn left for A11 and south or turn right to go north to Swaffham and Fakenham and some of Norfolks other great B roads like the B1145.

B1145 : Mundesley - Kings Lynn (A trans-Norfolk byway)

East Anglia > United Kingdom > Europe
March 7, 2005 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.6

The B1145 is a nice route to take you from one side of Norfolk to the other without seeing much traffic and zero congestion. Start in Mundesley and follow B1145 to North Walsham. This is a wide country lane type road with lots of bends. At traffic lights at N Walsham turn right twds Cromer (A149) and then take the 3rd left (Greens Road) twds Felmingham. At T Jct turn right back onto B1145 and continue to T Jct with A140 at Aylsham. This part more open with views across bends but some speed limits in villages. At A140 turn left and continue to roundabout. Go straight on, back onto B1145 twds Reepham and Cawston. Some nice open stretches here but also some hidden bends in trees and dips. At X-rds in Reepham turn right twds Bawdeswell. (Public toilet in market Place just to left at this x-rds.)At T Jct with A1067 in Bawdeswell turn right and then 2nd left back onto B1145. This is where the fun starts! From here route is fairly open all the way to Gayton 5 miles from Kings Lynn. Villages all have speed limits and Police do pay attention now and again. Also main hazard is locals pulling out of side roads, some on bends but usually signed, anticipating the fastest moving vehicle being the local milk float. At numerous X-rds carry straight on but some are some slightly staggered. After the A1065 the road really opens out for the last few miles to Gayton but beware junctions on/ just around bends for the first bit. At Gayton its a fairly straight run into Kings Lynn mostly in a 50 MPH limit.A fairly long route with the best bit being from Bawdeswell to Gayton.

B660 : Glatton - Winwick - Bedford

East Anglia > United Kingdom > Europe
December 2, 2004 - 3 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.2

A nice long quiet run through some quite nice little villages, not exactly high speed adrenaline type stuff, but enjoyable nonetheless

B660 : Ramsey St. Marys - Winwick

East Anglia > United Kingdom > Europe
December 20, 2004 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.6

A nice selection of medium speed bends and some open ones. Can be nicely combined with the Winwick-Bedford route (also described on this site) for a longer blast.
