This is part of my commute and is a fun but challenging road to ride. There are a lot of corners, some junctions and potentially farm traffic, but there is adequate room for the skilled rider to over take slower traffic. Take care as the road surface can be a challenge, there is some surface water in the winter and a couple of sections where gravel can be an issue. A technically challenging road that is a joy to ride.
An excellent road to ensure you are taking the correct road position prior to a RoSPA re-test.
A superb ride. The first half can be ridden at the speed limit so long as you take the correct line. After Barley the route gets more technical with some gravel on the road and sudden sharp corners. Take care. A good challenging ride. A friend on a Hyabusa found it difficult to keep up with a R1200GSA pushing through the corners in the right gear and using its low end torque.
This route is part of my commute during the summer months. It is not salted in winter. It is a great challenging route that I ride on a BMW R1200GSA. Between Watton and Rushden there are about 4 or 6 leaking water sources that can turn to slush in the winter. The road is quite technical and be careful through the narrow lane north of Cromer, where the route crosses the A507 because cars often pull out assuming you plan to turn left and coming into Ashwell as the road is narrow. There are several sections of B roads that have long sweeping bends where you can ride at the national speed limmit. One short section in Ashwell is a gravel road to avoid the village. You can continue straight as the end of the gravel road instead of turning left and you'll then be able to ride Ashwell Street to Bassingbourn which is a green lane. This route makes a great change from the A507 which is a lovely road but full of cars. The route is open and you'll have the road to yourself. If you catch up with a car, there are plenty of overtaking opportunities. There are some gravelly corners so take care. Alan
This was one day's ride on a route to Ushaia. The scenary was spectacular and much of the roads were gravel although we travelled through many sets of road works where the route is being tarmac'd. This is a superb day's riding but can be very challenging.
A superb day's ride with coffee in Chatillon sur Seine and lunch in Dijon. The route travels through a number of beautiful villages, take care on the cobbles, has some good straight and some wonderful routes through woodland with many challenging corners. We lived to tell the tale without incident.
This route from George starts on the main roads and then goes off road at Riversdale to Witsand and then again to get to the chain ferry at Malgas and ending in Cape Aguhlas. A mix of surfaces but a great ride on a BMW R1200GS Adventure with Continental TKC80 tyres.
This route takes you from the south of Yosemite up to Glacier Point and then into Yosemite Park past El Capitan and the half Dome before climbing through the Sierra Nevada to Lake Vining and up to Bridport. A ride with spectacular views and many corners. A good days riding with quite a few challenges.
A superb days´ riding with a variety of styles. Some good straights for a quick blast followed by some challenging forest roads with many corners and bends. A few of the bends are tight and blind. A good ride for an experienced rider. We stopped in Chatillon sur Seine for morning coffee and Dijon for lunch. After touring the centre we managed to find the old market square with some restaurants and cafes.
This is an amazing section of the Carretera Austral. Much of it is still gravel roads together with muddy switchbacks over a mountain pass. The scenery is spectacular. During 2016 we had to wait for several roadworks.
