sydney bathurst hill end mudge sydney

New South Wales > Australia > Oceania
December 21, 2017 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

cheap overnight stay at Hill End Hotel with dinner breakfast deals.
all sealed rds now. Historic Hill End town to wander before drinks with town history markers everywhere. Usually lots of motorbike riders here especially weekends so book.
Careful on the curves between Sofala and Hill End for rock falls. Great scenery.
Mudgee also a good overnight spot with lots more comfy overnight spots to stop whereas Hill End only has one 1 to 2 star spot.
Mudgee rd to Lithgow is quite fast but well policed.
Tarana pub worth a refreshment stop.

66 : Longreach - Mt Isa

Queensland > Australia > Oceania
May 12, 2008 - 3 star route rating Motorcycle Road3.5

Longreach the home of Qantas and much more is an interesting town. I got in at 11pm and found the town asleep. I did find a self serve petrol point that was fully automatic (credit card) and camped in the city provided (free) caravan facility. Up in the morning and a day of wind in your hair cruising. A great trip without a care in the world. The road, countryside and weather is just what life should be all about. Enjoy! Cloncurry and on to Mt Isa. Want to learn about mining ... you're in the right place. By now you are probably used to seeing big rivers without a drop of water .... even trees growing up out of their beds.

21 / Kakadu Hwy : Jabiru - Pine Creek (AUS_TTC 9)

Northern Territory > Australia > Oceania
November 17, 2010 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.3

Nice selection of corners through the Kakadu National Park. The Kakadu Highway is arguably the best motorcycling road for road based motorcycles in the Northern Territory. This 200km of which a about half of the road travels through the Kakadu National Park (A World Heritage Site) and is surrounded by Aboriginal lands. It is a long fast open section with many fast curves and an open hot, and deserted landscape. This road has low traffic and is relatively free of trucks due to no quarries being in the park itself. Watch out for nature and crocodiles!
