Beautiful Scottish scenary, great selection of sweepers and climbs and descents. Recommended.
Much more interesting (and quicker) than going via Lancaster. Take this route over Quernmore and stop in the lay-by just after Caton.
Lots of crimefighter presence at Caton, Kirkby and between. Mostly unwatched elsewhere.
Good surfaced A road 50/60 speed limits some cameras, busy with some police bikes etc sundays. ride takes u past Whalley, Clitheroe over to Skipton and on over tops through area called Blubberhouse [high mooreland]dropping down into Yorkshire at Harrogate, through Harrogate and onto York where one can continue east to either Bridlington Scarborough or Whitby on East coast, Some brew stops on way and good pubs for food. worth a days ride out.
This road wasn't busy when I rode it and think that's it's normally so. It was a former main road so has a good construction. Some really good corners.
