Start at the Scheetz on Route 220. Head up the mountain towards Snowshoe. Watch the right turn to stay on Rt 144 along the ridge to down into Renovo. When hiking or taking a break along the ridge keep your eyes peeled for rattle snakes!
Now follow the river for a winding road all the way back to Lock Haven.
If Route 10 were in better condition I would give it an Exceptional rating.
If you are interested about halfway along the 1st reservoir is Roods Creek Rd on your right and on that road is Islamberg, the main radical Muslim training camp. Usually under surveillance of multiple agencies so resist the urge.
Half way around head North on Rt 30 to Margaretville and Summervilles has some good eats.
Not much in the way of gasoline once you leave Deposit until Margaretville or where Route 30 and 17 meet.
Excellent piece of road that climbs about a 1000 meters in 19km's of very twisty roads with excellent views of the valley. Look out for the 'count down ' markers coming up to some of the hairpin bends.
So much nice riding to do out in this area!!
Gas is scarce so don pass up a chance to stretch and fill up.
If heading East continue into Cody then towards Buffalo via Bighorn National Forest along route 16.
DO NOT RIDE THIS IF IT IS COLD AND DAMP DOWN ON I-90!!
Bighorn National Forest is breath taking. Some of the nicest scenery I saw while riding out West. Altitudes will reach 10,000ft and wildlife is everywhere.
The Cody Resevoir is very intersting and the Wild Bill Cody museum is worth a visit. This tour can easily take up 2 days if you want to see the sights.
When heading back over get gas at Ten Sleep, its your last chance until Buffalo.
A bit of a longer tour.. definitely all day from dawn to dusk. Heavily traveled during Sturgis Bike Week.
Bad Lands National Park http://www.nps.gov/badl/ is like a moon scape. Pictures just cannot capture the images and the shades of color. Best seen just before closing or early in the morning.
If you have gotten this close you would have been seeing signs for Wall Drug for the last few hundred miles. Worth a look but lunch is much better and cheaper across the street!
Just about 1 hour outside of Barcelona rises mountains with a monestary at the peak. This truly odd geographical formation resembles a large African antnest setting upon a table top. The roads are in great condition and offer specatacular views and curves for all skill levels. Don pass up the tram to the very top putting you at the highest point as far as your eyes can see!!!
My favorite attraction on the Eastern side of Spain!!!
Many sharp curves and spectacular views of the ocean as you wind along the cliffs.
This road is SLOW moving so don be in a rush. Not many chances to pass slow moving tourists and farm carts but the views are worth every second of it.
Lunch in the port of Sitges just below the old church is worth the extra cost.
Amazing scenes and lots of wildlife. Watch your speeds around Wellsboro and anywhere down in the valley along 220.
Excellent road sufface from Snowshoe to Renova but lots of rubber neckers and wildlife so go slow and enjoy! Also no gas stations between those towns so fill the tank whenever the chance arrises.
Austin Dam is really cool history, spend some time there.
Great day of riding in North Eastern Spain. Spectacular road along the coast FULL of curves. Then up into the mountains for some carving.
