Popular run with local riders often combined with the 357 and the 224 to create a return loops. Heading East the route offers great coastal scenery, good pavement, decent speed limits and interesting places to stop. A hidden gem of a restaurant Il Porto would be my recommendation for lunch but Henleys Pub is also popular in Sheet Harbour.
Hwy 212 is great for a good afternoon blast. Some nice corners near the airport give way to a good mix of straights and sweepers. Moving on to the 357 at Elderbank tightens things up slightly and there are some nice views as you follow the Musquodoboit River. Just be sure to keep within the speed limit as there's a Cop Shop in Musquodoboit Harbour.
Myers Grant / Waverly run is a good 4-5 hour run (with rest / coffee stops) and offers a great ride with minimal traffic.
Close to the city this route has some spectacular views of the beach and some good curves with decent pavement for most of the run. Check out kite surfers and surfing rentals if you feel the need for a hypothermic fix
Great views, lots of sea, some forest twisties and interesting places to stop make this a favorite ride of mine.
