Loop around
Longer ride, 230 miles. Starting from I-40S to Sweetwater TN-68. From there you'll go across the Cherohala Skyway to US-129. Take a left on 129. I highly recommend a pit stop at Tapoco Tavern to rest and get some great food. From there you'll cross the Dragon and take a right on Foothills Parkway. Cross the old section of the parkway and the new to dump out on 321 in Wears Valley. Cut across to Line Springs Rd to Metcalf Bottoms (beautiful picnic area). You'll leave on Little River Gorge Rd which turns into 73/321. Take it through Townsend back into Maryville and a right onto 411. Stay on 411 till it merges with 129 and stay straight to the ramp to 140. From there it's back to I-40. Probably my favorite ride!

Amazing
Great ride
Lots of curves in the mtns
River Road is a short side route off the Cherohala Skyway - and you can apparently see a waterfall, which I didn't go to, but the cruise along the river is very pretty and a fun curvy road.
The first half of this ride from Gatlinburg out Little river road to Townsend is great drive along the river. Foothills parkway over to U.S. 129 (A.K.A.) THE DRAGON, is just as nice. U.S. 129 starts out ok, then quickly turns to WOW, Turns turns and more turns. 318 in just 11 miles, and turns they are. At the end of the Dragon, there are a couple places to stop and get your Tee-shirt and stickers. Continue on US 129 to the Cherohala skyway (make sure to fill up with gas before the skyway, because after you get on it there is no gas for about 50 miles or so). After the skyway it is just good riding back to US 129. Then you get back on the Foothills Parkway and then back to Gatlinburg. The law can be tough on speed demons so be careful especially across the Dragon.
Ride the smokies and deals gap
Apart from the occasional pothole, this is great.
Excellent corners along the river, beautiful too.
Really nice selection of low and medium speed corners, scccrrraaaappppeee!
Really beautiful, twisty section, follow the signs carefully or you may end on a gravel path.
Can be some tourists, but otherwise very nice.
Nice, short twisty section
