The superslap portions of the route are what they are, but the mountain roads portion of this route is fantastic.
Two major sections of mountains and twisties.
Beautiful scenery in the mountains.
NOT good to go any later in the winter season than about November as roads up at 5000 feet elevation will ice up and snow, but other times of the year, it's a long but great ride to a desert resort area.
Going to be a great ride on a beautiful day
Great trip through Angeles National Park. Watch the corners. Gets tight and saw a few bikes that had hit the walls!
Great climb, corners and scenery.
Long day in the saddle but well worth the trip. Wife and I do this trip in the fall every yr on 2 up. Lots of great wine stops to pick up a few bottles and then enjoy Ojai that night.
Great day ride out of Ojai. Some great food stops along the way. Try “The Place” in venacopa and Pine Mt Bar in Fish Camp.
Sweeping turns, rolling hills, great pavement, vineyards and oak woodlands: a short but very nice ride. North end meets Foxen Canyon Rd, another great ride.
One of the more enjoyable roads in this area. Sweeps, straights, hills, a few sharp turns, good pavement, and great scenery. Vineyards, wineries, open countryside. Intersects with some other good roads: Aliso Canyon and Tepesquet Rd. North end meets with Palmer Rd; South end meets with Ballard Canyon Rd.
April 7 Friday
Fun relaxing ride with lots of swooping turns and scenic views. He road is a two lane road that has been patched over the years. There are some place that are prone to flooding but overall a great hour and a half loop.
Quick Loop on To the snake and back
Desert to small towns to ocean
Entering Death Valley from the west via Hwy 190 offers some of the most awe inspiring scenery on the planet with a motorcycle ride to match! I started this route in Ridgecrest and made a little jog up 9 MIle Canyon Road because if you're in the area this is not to be missed.
Heading east from 395, Hwy 190 runs flat across Owens Valley with the Sierras in your mirror and the Panamint Range up ahead. Across the valley the road turns south and begins to climb. Things get interesting right away, and it pretty much doesn't stop until you get off your bike in Beatty. Taking in the vistas, the thought that kept coming to mind was, \"how did this happen??\" Amazing.
The road surface is smooth with nary a pot hole or tar snake along the entire route but for a few miles coming into Stovepipe Wells. That was also amazing. The area is nearly completely absence of LEOs. Gas is sparse but not too bad with stations in Beatty, Pahrump and Furnace Creek. Keep it topped off just in case.
Also see my ride post on Beatty-Badwater-Jubilee Pass which is also a part of DV
Scenic countryside ride -see vineyards and rolling hills of area. Take your time on Santa Rosa Creek lots of rough road but worth the drive. About 5 hours with a stop at Linns Cafe for the famous Berry Pie in Cambria
This is a cool little side trip if you are in the Malibu area and area interested in ocean and mountain views, and a short hike to really cool rock formations. Great photo ops here. There are turns and twists, but no real chance to get above 35 MPH.
Beautiful back road from Vineyard Dr to Paso Robles. One of my favorite roads in the area with gorgeous corners.
Pozo Saloon serves good food at super reasonable prices.
Start in Glendora, go up Glendora Mountain Rd, across Glendora Ridge to Mt Baldy and down My Baldy Rd to Euclid Ave in Upland.
Great technical curves, nice scenery, little traffic.
Hazards include: rocks/gravel/sand on road, no lane dividers, narrow roadway, idiot drivers, wildlife.
I find this route exceptional, except when there is not ice/snow on the ground. It is mainly paved fire access roads, but the smooth parts are worth it.
Bring your appetite to Reyes Creek Bar and Grill because the servings are giant.
Great views of the mountains and ocean with plenty of twists to keep you occupied.
Intense corners, similar to other canyon roads around these parts. Highly Recommended
A leisurely ride through farm country north of LA. The road is just interesting enough to keep you occupied, but not windy enough to tire you out.
Twisty
Good!
