Whoever designed and built this road was into bikes.
We travel up from Dumbarton just to ride it... outstanding combination of fast straights and corresponding bends and much tighter undulating sections. Stacks of opportunities to refine your skills.. if your going hard keep an eye for the occasional farm and side roads. Superbikes come into their own here... midweek is best time to ride..no traffic...no cops..
I'd rate this one of the best stretches in Scotland to show your machine what your made and what shes capable of ....outstanding...enjoy with caution ....

Inverness to Cannich and back
Highland (Scotland) ... > United Kingdom > Europe
May 3, 2014 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Nice scenic ride that starts in Inverness and heads towards Cannich via the Beauly road (A862 & A831). Single track from about Aigas to Cannich. Return to Inverness via Drumnadrochit (A831 & A82). Lots of corners - busy with tourist traffic in the summer. Great scenery.

Nice short run mainly following the coastline of the Beauly Firth, returning to Inverness via the Kessock Bridge.

A82 / B862 Round Loch Ness From Inverness
Highland (Scotland) ... > United Kingdom > Europe
April 20, 2014 - 4 star route rating Motorcycle Road4.0

Nice smooth road on the Drumnadrochit road going out to Fort Augustus but the road is a bit pot-holed coming back on the Whitebridge side and there are stretches of single track road too. All in all a good mix of technical ability coupled with great scenery.

HOW HAS THIS ROAD NOT BEEN PUT UP YET!!! God himself gave this road the seal of approval. How has not been revealed to you guys yet. What bugs me in England is the roads have hedges/houses right next to them, you cant see around the corner and therefore you take it a little bit slower then you would like. Well....let me show you the way people. This road is has long corners, tight corners, rises, falls, straights, fantastic views, clear vision, awesome road surface and no traffic!!! Well...you might get the odd caravan in the summer hols but thats easily taken care of when your reaching speeds of +*3*mph on the straights and corners at 9*mph. There are more roads like this north of the Caingorms and the local plods are happy with bikers being there too. I nail these roads most days and each time i pull over im smiling from ear to ear. When you experience these roads you wont want to leave i promise you.

I wouldn't suggest this road if you want to enjoy driving. It's a really tiny one lane road, with bad surface and some blind corners. On the other hand the environment is really spectacular and there is absolutely no traffic at all. It's a road to enjoy the Scottish nature.

Great Route, Plenty Of Spectaculer Scenery, Loads Of Long Fast Sweeping Bends, Although This Is An A Road Route, At Places It Turns Into Single Track Road With Passing Places, Watch Out For the Locals Travelling To And From Work, They Think They Are On A Race Track, Outside Of These Times It Is Really A Free Route Passing The Odd Car SHere & There, Be Extra Carefull With The Odd Lamb On Roadside. Take A Stop At Scourie For Coffee At £1.50, Overlooking A lovely Bay, Carry On To Durness, Great Views, Next Stop, Tongue a Little Village With A Hotel That Serves Food & Drink, However 50 yds Down The lane There Is A Post Office That Has A Nice Little Tea Room And Does Sandwiches, Far Cheaper Than The Hotel. Next Its North To The little village Of Lairg On The Banks Of Its Own Loch, Worth A Stop To View Sights, Then Back to Ullapool To a Variety Of Pubs, Restauraunts And Take Aways, Stroll Along The Harbour with Fish & Chips, Or Even A Ruby Murray (Curry). We Stayed 5 Nights In Ullapool And Found A Different Route Everyday, Another I Would Strongly Recommend Is A Visit T0 The Isle Of Skye (BY ROAD, NOT FERRY) The Route There Is Outstanding, Believe Me.
