This is a great rout if ya just want a quick spin out with the lads! Has a bit of everything from tight twisties :) for the knee draggers, to a few long straights for the wheelie and straight line boys ;) theirs a good bike places to stop off for a brew and a butter (Tattershall lay-buy caffe) but only thing I'd suggest you be aware of is the time of year ya go! As it is Lincolnshire and sometimes tractor season and also watch out for mud on the road those times of year! But I guarantee you will be seeing plenty of other bikers on this rout as it's quite popular! All I say is be mindful of ya speeds in the villages and respect the 30's and we won't be pissing off the locals which will keep the police presence to a minimum and everyone is happy :)
Great run out when the sun is shining!
Triple loop around the Buckingham area
This route commanded some good sweeping roads through picturesque villages amidst massive farmhouse structures that represent land wealth. A few roundabouts but helped to keep on back roads. Road surface awful after Stafford pot holes big enough to break your neck in.
Mostly country roads with varying levels of bends.
A nice steady rural route to Newark, taking in the cool roller coaster road, between Bradmore village and Plumtree. The route follows though Cotgrave and along a nice long straight to Straghlethorpe. The route then goes off through Radcliffe and Shelford before emerging near to Gunthorpe Bridge. The next little stretch of main road between Gunthorpe and Lowdham has a erasing speed cameras, so be warned! The route then follows through Caythorpe towards ferry farm, where there's a nice pull in next to the river trent. My route then continues though Hoveringham, Thurgarton, Goverton, Bleasby and Fiskerton. After which there is another pull in place by the river trent, if you need to adjust your nads and have a minute. The route then continues through Rolleston, before joining the main road into Newark. The carpark at Castle Barge if free for bikes, as long as you park in the designated Motorcycle area. In the barge, you can grab a drink and a half decent pizza etc. The place also has free WiFi. All in all, a nice ride out, if you're a fairly steady rider like me. Maybe not for Sports bike riders, but I think most of you would love this ride. ????????????
Nice short local ride
A short fun little ride.
Nice cross country route across from Brackley to Little Malvern
Trial route.
Nice selection of roads especially done early. Beware the blind rise and right corner that comes out of nowhere near burton le goggles
Anti CW loop via dambuster pub, has it all.
various changes in road types a good afternoon evening run
various road types from twisty to fast sweeping. loads of elevation changes and all on good road surface.
Personal favourite when I cant sleep
One road with plenty of good corners
Mostly hampered by the 50's in Derbyshire. The route wouldn't let me plot what we actually rode - for clarity, we drove from Monyash through Crowdecote (sharp hill bends - 1st gear) to Longnor then hung a left as per the route. Second discrepancy is at Meerbrook, we turned left at the Lazy Trout and followed that section up and over the roaches- at one point it's very steep and gated, but it does bring you back up to the Leek-Buxton road just prior to the Winking Man pub and although it's steep and gated, it's views are awesome.
Stopped at Yonderman cafe on the way out after 90 minutes, Leek for a stroll although Buxton would be a better midway lunch point.
great back roads and amazing hairpins.
Kimbolton road, a47, market harborough
71 (ir) dambusters sports day ride out
A round trip taking in some good roads and views
Loop from Mickleover to monyash
